Will it cost me everything?

A couple of days ago on the twenty-fourth I was thinking about this blog and how I am enjoying writing so much. Grateful for those of you who have read it. I’m enjoying thinking about the stories of God’s amazing grace and mercy in the life of our family. I decided to read the Proverbs for the day and this is the verse that jumped out at me.

Proverbs 24:11-12

Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. If you say, “But we knew nothing about this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it? Will he not repay everyone according to what they have done?

Through these verses the Lord spoke to me and reminded me of the terrible discouragement Darin and I faced. The absolute impossibility of our situation and how some of you are in the middle of it that right now. I have been there, Darin and I have been there. It is exactly how these verses state. You are staggering toward the slaughter and you need to be rescued from being led away to death.

I pray this blog continues to help you overcome what you are having to face. Many of you are facing things behind closed doors as I was but God is with you. He is going to give you wisdom and let you know what to do next.

I believe from these verses that Darin and I have a responsibility to those staggering, those being led away. We are living proof that God can fix anything! Absolutely anything!

We sing about it all the time. I have lead songs that have said exactly that but my knowledge had to be turned into understanding. To know He can fix anything is one thing but to understand it is so much better.

Proverbs 4:7-9

The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom.
Though it cost all you have
, get understanding.
Cherish her, and she will exalt you;
embrace her, and she will honor you.
She will give you a garland to grace your head
and present you with a glorious crown.”

This is a promise! I promise you if you do what the Bible tells you to do you cannot lose!

Darin used to look at me and say if I could just get this much hope. He would put his thumb and pointer finger together until they were almost touching. I pray God fills you with you with hope as you believe for your difficult and impossible situation.
