Walkin’ on Water and No it Don’t Feel Good!

Share Article

Sometimes when Jesus asks you to trust him for an impossible situation it looks like he is asking you to walk on water like Peter tried to do in Matthew 14. The Bible says when Peter began to walk on the water he saw the wind and became afraid so he began sinking.

Feb. 8th 2008 God gave me this verse. Little did I know soon after that Darin would decide to give us a chance and in February of 2009 just a year later I would begin packing up our house and in March move to Michigan.

John 10:27

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish: no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.

I read that verse when I promise you the wind looked, felt, and sounded as if it was just destroying us, especially Darin. The wind was just pouncing on our family! But the Word says… I would say to my heart. Darin will not be snatched! He won’t be! I knew in my heart he was a child of God and though his actions spoke differently he loved God with all his heart. I didn’t care what it looked like on the outside. I didn’t care what he was saying or doing. I would say to my heart It does not matter how hopeless this becomes Darin will not be snatched and God is somehow going to rescue us! Verses like this kept me from doubting. They gave me the courage I needed to step out and continue to walk on water!

Matthew 7:24-27

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them in practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

One more thing:

The other night we had worship music on and Macy was dancing to it. Something I love to watch and oh how I wish you could see her dance it is a wonderful site! That night she ran to me and said Mom when I dance it’s like the whole world hates each other and then I dance and loves bursts out over everybody! As she says that she shows me what bursting looks like with her little precious hands.

What you need to know is when Macy was just a baby I use to dance with her in my arms to worship music all the time inside our house believing God was performing miracles as we danced! Praying that God would protect her heart and mend our hearts as we navigated through very dangerous waters! He came through didn’t He! Now we dance for all of you! Even Skyler is getting in on the action now:)

I want you to know we love all of you and are standing with you as you walk on water. We are cheering you on along with Heaven and Jesus himself!
Remember keep your eyes on Him, not the wind!
