If God has asked you to be faithful in a difficult marriage, then this is the blog for you!

She Can Take the Heat

Share Article

A couple of years ago Darin and I wanted to go to a worship conference that was close by but we were unable to make it happen so I watched it online wishing we could be there!

I was watching as the cameras spanned the audience. Everyone was worshipping God with all their hearts. It was mostly a group of Young Adults.

They were telling Jesus:

We love you

We want to serve you

We want to change our generation

Whatever you ask we will do

I thought to myself that was Darin and I about 10 to 20 and almost 30 years ago

We were completely sold out to God

We too said

Whatever you ask we will do

At that time

I promise you I never dreamed that would include

Staring down Divorce

Never dreamed I would give up everything that had become dear to me

To save my family

And I for sure

Never dreamed God would use an unloving spouse

to produce righteous in me

but He did

I believe He looked down from Heaven and said

This one

She can take the heat

How sad it is

That there are those in that very conference that will face life challenges similar to ours

Statistically

50% of those at that conference I was watching

That eventually get married

Will also get divorced

Unless ofcourse

They too

Can take the heat

If you are reading this blog

If God in His sovereignty connected you with us

Then He knows you have the goods

You too can take the heat

It is unbearable at times

But it’s worth it

I promise it is

Hebrews 12:11-13

No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. “Make level paths for your feet,” so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.

I admit

Changing a generation

And doing whatever He asks

Is not nearly as glamourous

As I thought it would be

It does stand to reason

We do serve a King who was born in a stable

We are praying for you!
