Oh Give Me Some of that Courage

Share Article

When Darin and I were walking through these difficult days for some reason God always spoke to me the most during the last half of the month. If you were to look through my Bible you would see the last half of Proverbs is marked up compared to the front half. Things always seemed to happen and get worse at the end of the month.

One of the verses that gave me courage to keep persevering was:

Proverbs 20:21

An inheritance quickly gained at the beginning will not be blessed at the end.

I am all about getting an inheritance!

One of the verses that gave me courage to be faithful was:

Proverbs 20:6

Many a man claims to have unfailing love, but a faithful man who can find?

I did not read this like…who can find a faithful husband? I read this as: It’s me Lord, I’ll be faithful!

One of the verses that gave me the courage to keep loving even when it seemed like nothing was happening was:

Proverbs 20:28

Love and faithfulness keep a king safe; through love his throne is made secure.

I did not read this as: if the king would just love me and be faithful then he would be safe and his throne would be secure, I read this as: if I will love, if I will be faithful, then Darin will be made safe and secure.

I am praying that courage will overcome your fears and cause you to live believing your going to see a miracle take place in your family.
