If God has asked you to be faithful in a difficult marriage, then this is the blog for you!

Lord You’re Killing Me Here

Sometimes doing what God asks us to do

Feels a lot like

We are walking

Strait into

Shards of glass

With our hearts

If you could see the results

It wouldn’t be nearly as hard

But God doesn’t show us the results

He just asks us to obey

And this is very hard

And can be very very humiliating

God does not care if we are humiliated

As a result of obeying Him

I was talking to a friend of mine a couple of days ago that has been believing for a miracle in her own marriage. Her and her husband have been separated for 2 years. She told me that God has done such a work in her own heart that her husband can finally sit down with her and reveal what is going on in his own heart without her taking it personally. This woman, in her private time with the Lord, has walked through shards of glass with her heart. She now knows that the deep struggles her husband is facing is not a whole lot about her. Most importantly she has come to understand and accept the fact that God wants to use this situation as difficult and terrible as it is to work some deep flaws out in her own life and ultimately draw her closer to Him.

My friend is submitting to the dealings of God and because of this she is setting the stage for this verse to be worked out in her husband and family’s life!

Proverbs 31:11

The heart of her husband trusts in her

And he will have no lack of gain

I pray God gives you the courage to walk into the shards of glass God is asking you to do. Jesus is with you!

As my counselor told me years ago…

Don’t waist this trial!

I am finding in my own life that there are more shards of glass God wants me to walk into! Thankfully God healed my marriage but he is not stopping there he wants more of my heart. I tell him, have I not walked through enough! He says no I want more of you, more of your heart! I want you to surrender more! I want more of my goodness pouring out of your life!

May God strengthen all of us as we pursue Him in every aspect of our lives.

Hebrews 10:38

But my righteous one will live by Faith. And I take no pleasure in one who shrinks back.
